As Genesis, a vibrant young adult group actively engaged with the Catholic Church, we are committed to fostering a safe and respectful environment for all. We recognize the importance of preventing unwanted assaults of any kind, and we believe that education is key to creating a more just and equitable world.
That’s why we are urging all our friends who volunteer in our activities and in the church to take a free course on assault prevention. This course is designed to provide essential knowledge and skills to help you recognize, prevent, and respond to unwanted advances and assaults. By equipping ourselves with this knowledge, we can create a more welcoming and inclusive community where everyone feels safe and respected.
The course covers a range of topics, including:
* Understanding the dynamics of unwanted assaults
* Recognizing the signs and symptoms of potential threats
* Developing strategies for preventing and de-escalating situations
* Reporting and responding to incidents effectively
This course is offered in person and is completely free of charge. It is open to all volunteers, regardless of age, gender, or background. We encourage you to take this course as soon as possible to help us create a safer and more just community for all.
